Trail Boss 250 front sprocket tooth count?
#4
12 teeth on the front sprocket (3221044) An 11 tooth Polaris sprockets from the older models won't fit because of the shaft dimension difference. You might try Sunstar or JT sprockets if any are available for your 98 model. Plus you may not notice that much difference. As mentioned clutch kits will.

Ok, so what would be a good primary spring to go with, green, white or pink? I want more low end for wheelies and trails, and don't want to sacrifice up top power. If I can accomplise what I want with a spring that would be great, as I know after awhile I'm.going to heavily mod it and will have to start over

Is your primary spring that's in the clutch now the factory spring and if so what color is it and do you know the stall and shiftout speed ratin of it? If it's an aftermarket spring what company is it and what color is it and do you know the rating for it?
For a stock quad I would probably start to go up around 10 to 15 on the stall speed and maybe around 5 to 10 to 15 on the shiftout speed. To be honest with you on a stock quad you might not see any difference at all or you may even loose power depending on the porting of the factory cylinder and how well it works with the factory exhaust. Sometimes there are slight variances with the factory port work and how well it works with the factory exhaust dimensions so sometimes it's possible to improve performance with clutching and sometimes it isn't.
