1986 Yamaha Moto 4 225 is SMOKING!!!!!!!
I bought my moto 4 on craigslist for $270.00 not starting.
Trusting the man with the whole 'it needs a woodruff key to start' thing.
His word was good.
Now my problems are.
SMOKE and LOTS of it(blue smoke) i believe.
I rode it for 10-20 minutes and BLAM smoking REALLY bad like it was on fire but it wasn't.
I turned it off for 10 minutes started it and regular light smoking.
P.S when it was smoking it was literally SPITTING oil fro where the muffler hooks up to the cylinder.
It was pouring out when I checked the oil was still good.
(I had just changed the oil)
If you need more details let me know.
Thanx in advance.

I dont know nothing about the woodruff key i have heard about it. My thoughts on the smoke is rings are shot or the jug/cylinder has been damaged, check compression or take head off and inspect cylinder/piston for damage. I had rebuilt the top end of a 150 scooter, I got for free on ksl, dude ran it with no oil, it was easy and a good learning experience, it had smoked liked crazy before I fixed the top end. The engines are not far off from the running aspect. Just a thought. If you have any ? Email me I sent you my gmail robnbecky. Thanks for response on the manual it was a shot in the dark!
