One of the best trail quads out there, light, easy to handle, turns on a dime, easy to pull up the front end over stumps and logs,my son never got splashed in a puddle, he would just yank on the bars, give it some gas and pop the clutch and ride a low wheelie over the wet spots !! Not a lot of power, only 282 ccs, but if all you want is to ride a twisty trail all day, can't think of a much better quad.

very good bike but if your a experienced rider you might wanna consider the 400ex. although it didnt have reverse untill 05 it has alot more motor and suspension. the 300 is a great bike for trails and they all had reverse. its just alot of people grow out of it quick and want more bike. so why hassle getting a 300 then wanting to sell it for something bigger. if your young and on the lighter side then give it a try. both bike are super reliable and do well with upgrades.

For really tight stuff where you never get out of 3rd gear anyway, it doesn't get any better than the 300EX....it's like riding a toy! The 400EX is also an excellent trail quad, and more powerful than the 300, but also a little wider and bigger so it doesn't fit between the trees quite as nicely.
For faster more open trails, I like the Z400.

Rode a 1994 300EX for years...great handling, great brakes...needed more power in a major way, and suspension was not great for big jumps. It's great for trail riding and wooded sections, and in the tight stuff my buddies on their 400EX's couldn't catch me. If you are under 150 pounds you will enjoy it immensely. Only problem I ever had was the rear axle carrier bearings seizing because there was no way to lube them.

I just got a 2000 300ex. When I was 20 tears younger, I rode the crap out of my 200x ATC. This is my first 4 wheeler and am very impressed with it so far. Very adgile and light on the feel. I weigh in at 165 lb and she pulls me around easy. I think this ATV is perfect for me. I wanted something I could ride with my 2 son's who are on a 50 and 90. We can ride all day long and it dosn't wear me out.
