HP numbers
Well, if I remember correctly the following were the numbers for 2008
Kawie 750i = 52
KQ750 = 50
Griz700 = 47
Rincon 700 = 41
Can Am 800 = 62
Polaris 800 = 54
AC1000 = 67
I think the kawie750, KQ750, Can-Am800 are slight higher for 2009 and the polaris has the new 2009 sportsman 850 with 70hp.
However, HP numbers are only one slice of the pie that makes the entire quad. I have had a kawie prairie 700, kawie bf750, polaris 800x2 and now a 2009 KQ750. Power between these is the bf750, then the sportsman800, then then KQ750 and then the prairie 700 with all being very close. The bf750 has the best low end and response.
BUT, if you factor in handling, power, torque, ride comfort, functionallity, ground clearance, etc, etc, then POWER isn't everything. My new KQ750 handles better than all the previous quads I have owned. It is the best all around package.
So, bottom line is you have to ask yourself the following question.
1) What is the majority of your riding will be?
2) What do you value most, HP or ride comfort or all around package?
3) Is ground clearance more important?
4) Is front locker more important?
etc etc etc
