Thanks for the tips guys. I think I'll start with the plug first (cheapest) - NGK seems to be the preference on this board. I'll also look into the power commander - I haven't heard of that on a quad before.

Octane, you lost me with ""it is possible to have a DA of less than the actual altitude MSL". As for altitude, I ride above 5,000 100% of the time, with typical excursions up to 9,000+.
Now that I think about it, you might have hit on something with the clutch set-up. I bought my quad in Sacramento which is a lot lower than 5,000ft. I'll have to check the settings. Probably take me a week or so with the holiday weekend but I'll be back!

Hey, there's the cheap shot I was asking for earlier!
Primer you smartass (he's one of my riding buddies) I fill from the same gas pump you do (your turn to buy next time), but you're probably right about the heavy thumb. Now that I think of it, my poor gas mileage is probably due to all that idling waiting for you to catch up!
