stalling out of polaris 800
We have a friend that his 800 efi stalls out while riding and it has to sit for anywhere from 15 min. to 45 min. and then it will restart and run fine for awhile but keeps happening. He had a 500 before and it happened to it also and was told by a dealer that it needed a new fuel pump. Had friends that just went to wisc. 4 wheeling and one of theirs also did the same thing so it is more common and I have to think that it is something simple.. Can you help us out?

Check throttle cable, should only be 1/16 of an inch of play...also check battery make sure it's charge is full..and check the bolts/wires on the battery, make sure they are tight. then check the air filter. Mine was stalling out too, after I charged the battery overnite tightened up a loose bolt on positive side then tightened up the throttle cable, it's been good to go. Not sure if it was one of those issues or a combo of...but it worked.

I'm just throwing this out there, but my friend and his wife both have new Sportsman's (an 800 and a 500) and they were having issues with them stalling as well. They called the dealer, and he asked them if they had key chains on their keys...? I guess the key chain may catch just enough to cut out the ignition. I don't know if that will fix your problem, but I would remove the key chain and see if it continues.
