Ok some times elevation can be a problem, Don't think you should have that problem. With out knowing your experince I would tell you not to tare apart the carb due to settings. But unless you have all ready messed with your set screws can can go ahead and tare it apart. I would say if you havn't messed with your set screws don't. That way you don't have to reset them and mess with that. What I beleve the best way to clean a carb is soaking it. Oriley auto parts sells a 1 gallon can of carb soak cleaner(I think its called berryman runs about 20 bucks). Its great you just take the bowl off and let it soak for 30 mins then spray clean with carb cleaner(I use it on all of my toys and it wors great) then put back toghter. But you probley still need to pull the spark plug out and test compersion. I had a ninja sport bike that would start for a second or so on ether or would run if pop started but did the valves and fixed everything. PM if you want i can give you a call and talk you through more
