96 Polaris Magnum 425 - No Spark

My battery was dead so i pull started it and the pull cord broke. It ran fine and when i got home i charged the battery and now it wont start. It turns over but no spark.

I have done the following:
replaced spark plug
replaced ignition coil
replaced battery

Still no spark. Buddy told me to replace CDI but i dont want to do that unless i have to. Any help would greatly be appreciated as deer season is here.

Dont buy any more parts until you are able to get stator resistance specs. 95% of my electrical problems are stator related. I havent replaced a coil in years, bad cdi units are rare. Have had a couple plug caps bad (resistor caps can short out)

If the rope broke, it may have wrapped around the flywheel and bent the trigger coil bracket .

I will check both of these things. I ordered a service manual so i can check the stator spec and will check trigger coil too. Thanks.

Got it going just in time for modern gun season thanks for the advice. The trigger coil gap was too wide. Put a piece of card stock between it and the flywheel and adjustred gap. Thanks for the help.

I took all that apart to get to my waterpump and now i dont have spark on my 95'. I wonder if i didnt accidently bend that trigger coil and my gap is wrong and thats why im not getting any spark? how did you check the gap since its behind the flywheel and how do you adjust it and what is it suppose to be adjusted to?

I tore a piece of card stock from a spark plug container and slid it between the gap. Then i loosened the screws on the trigger coil bracket and slid it until it would hold the card stock in the gap between the trigger coil and the high spot on the flywheel.

The correct air gap is .016-.030
