Default scrambler 400 overheating

hey i'm new to the forum but anyway i just bought a used '96 scrambler 400 and only payed $1000 for it but i am having a problem with it overheating, the fan ceased up so i put a new one on and wired it to a switch due to the temp. sensor is also bad and wont tell the fan to turn on, is there a thermastat on it or could it be the water pump, any help would be much appreciated

Default scrambler 400 overheating

well i just did some trouble shooting and the water pump is pushing water, and after pulling the radiator out of the bike i was able to wash it very, very well and got the large amout of mud out, also discovering that the radiator does have some damage and i know that it was in a front end collision (from the previous owner) i've narrowed it down to a bad radiator, after running for a good 10-15 min it had not overheated at all, as compared to being very hot in about 3min. before
