BADGER 80 CC CARB ADJ NEEDED
hello all, need help..
i have a yamaha badger 80cc year is around 1996...
i have no repair manual..
could someone tell me the carb screw adj. settings..
1 has a plastic cap over it, what is this one and what is setting..
the other has no cap on it, right next to the one with cap and what is setting on that one...
it runs a little rough with slight miss,i think it may be setting, but dont know..
i put new gas in it ,seafoam..
anything you think of might help to get this atv running smooth..
also what type of oil do you use in engine and rear end also has a diff oil...
does this have fuel filter and where is it located?

BADGER 80 CC CARB ADJ NEEDED
the screw with the cap on it is the idle mixture and the one to the right is the idle speed. I don't know of any fuel filter on the machine. when was the last time the carb. was removed and cleaned. I'd try that before changing any adjustments.
the idle mixture should be 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 turns out from seated. also what shape is the spark plug in ?

BADGER 80 CC CARB ADJ NEEDED
both screws were turned in and out...
when i turn the idle mixture one as you say out it revs real high, then i have to back it off..how do you know that its at right spot on mixture setting or do you just put it at 1 and 1/2?
then little one is idle speed screw, thanks on that i thought it was air screw..
i guess it does not have air screw?
yes, i will take it off and clean it, i used seafoam and new gas..
can you give me plug no.and gap setting on plug?
thanks

well I will tell you one thing about the old bager 80cc carbs, they wear out and then they idle high and you can run them only on choke. I just replaced mine with a raptor 80 carb and the thing runs great, (all the raptor 80 is is a newer plastic and frame with the same old engine and transmission)

Found solution for carb running too rich
Carb was carbon fouling plugs and running poorly when warm. Even an Amazon replacement carb tdid exactly the same way. Obviously running too rich. Finally figured out that the top of the throttle slide needle has a circlip for adjusting mixture. Moved the circlip to the top position which puts the needle lower into the carburetor and runs much leaner. The badger ran perfectly after that.
