ATVSport prints LTR500 slower than TRX250r
Just read in ATVSport where Duncan racing modified a LTR500 & said that the TRX250r was faster!!!! I don't seem to recall that being the case if my memory serves me right. The TRX250r was a nice machine, but the Kawasaki Tecate-4 was the fastest 2-stroke 250cc atv around. Banshee 350 only being slower than the LTR 500. Someone school me on the subject, but couldn't bite my tongue for the TRX250r getting some credit for being faster than Quadzilla!!!!! Can't say who's smokin what, but I don't buy this......

I thought a banshee would be quicker then a 250r?...I dont know much about 2-strokes but everywhere i read the quadzilla is the fastest production quad ever made.
i thought it went like this
(top speed 2-strokes)
ltr500,banshee,tec3&4,trx250r,zuki250r

I have a 250r. My friend had a lt 500. Mine has alot of work done to it and his just had a pipe and a 39mm pwk carb. I could beat him by 5 lengths easy. They are only 5sp. and weigh alot more than a 250, but they are fast out of the hole.I wouldn't start pulling away untill the top of 4th gear. Now those darn banshee's are tough to beat. If they only have a pipe I'll eat em up, but if they have any internal work done they are fast. All you have to do to beat a banshee is add a few turns to the mix and a couple jumps and whoops and that is where the 250r really shines. You have to put alot of money in a banshee to get it to handle like a stock 250.

actually it went like this:
LT500R Quadzilla
Banshee
Tecate-4
Quadracer 250
TRX250R
The trx was actually the slowest 250 in stock form, the suzuki 250 was a little faster stock, and a tecate 4 would leave it sitting there and be knocking on the back door of a banshee. its no contest with lt500 and a trx250R; except in handling. the trx250R is still a great handling machine even compared to todays....the most copied quad chassis on the planet...

if both bikes were built then i'd believe it!! i have a suzuki 250r and i am not much slower than my dad's banshee and i'm not tuned correctly right now!! my dad's banshee is not slow either, it has milled heads, piped, k&n, and a boost bottle!! my friend has a trx250r with the same work i have done, bored with a weisco piston, milled head, oversized carb, piped, k&n, and a port job, and we run about neck and neck!! i have been looking into putting a 500r motor in my 250r but i'm pretty fast and i'm only on my 3rd bore so i'm thinking big bore kit!!! i think with enough work done though the race could go either way... 500r would have the torque no doubt but 250's are fast reving bikes!! i dunno though because they are the fast production 2 stroke ever made and i have never been lucky enough to have ridden one so who knows!!
