All these changes, are thanks to uncle sam's near imposible emision standards, the price of these trucks have all jumped in 2007/8 do to the emision requirements that brought about these new engines. Ford would have been happy to have just kept bumping the up the HP on the 7.3s and never made the 6.0 or the new 6.4. There are 7 radiators under the hood of a new 6.4L.

They all have emmision controls that rob fuel economy and generate extream amounts of heat. The 6.4 L is the only one of the 3 that is already able to meet the even more extream 2010 emmision standard. Just take a look underneath a 2002 7.3 then a 2006 6.0 and compare them all to the new 6.4 and you will see your federal government has been hard at work.
