oil filter counter clockwise to loosen?
Yea counter clockwise to loosen. If it was put on pretty tight and you can't get or don't have an oil filter wrench you can get it off the red neck way by driving a screw driver thru the filter and use the handle for to turn the filter. I've had to do that several times on a little bit of everything. If you give it a try just make sure you go to the end of the filter so you don't damage the threads where you screw on the filter. An oil filter wrench is safer but if you don't have one than this will work. Also that is why I like k&n oil filters they come with a bolt head attached to the end of the filter just incase something like this happens.

Damn you guys from New England are starting to change my opinion of yankees. I thought the screwdriver and belt trick were pure redneck. Redneck meaning they were invented and primarily used by hairy guys named Bubba who's butt hung out of his pants. If ya'll know about these tricks and use them then ya'll must have a little Redneck in you too. And if that's the case then I guess yankees aren't all that bad after all. LOL
