I have the same problem with my sons Raptor 50 after doing the carb/jet update. I have read that adjusting the float can lean out or richen the fuel mixture but I have not attempted it. There are some really good articles on the web about carburation and jetting and may help you understand what exactly
needs to be done and how to do it to get the results you want. Usually the half to full throttle mixture is adjusted by a combination of various sources, the main jet needle valve, slider notch, idle jet, but the Mikuni carb. has a set main jet needle valve length. Let me know how it goes. I may be interested in giving the float adjustment a try.
