Default 87 fourtrax 250 tires

I recentley purchased an 87 fourtrax 250 and replaced the rear tires with Dirt devils, matching the original tire size (25X12-9). It has always looked jacked-up in the rear and the new tires didn't help. Right now I have 21X7-10 on the front. Can I put like a 23x7-10 on the front to "level" it out some? Or is there another size I can go with. I know the front has 10" wheels.
Also, Someone suggested going with a smaller rear tire, but I just bought these and would like to keep them. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks

This is the 2wd right? If so yes you can go with taller tires in front..

Yeah its the 2 wheel drive. Do you think I need to stay with the 23x7-10 or should I go taller or wider. I'm not sure what going wider is going to do to the turning radius though!

I don't know what the tire options are but I would go with 8" wide but 23 is probably about it for heighth with a 10" rim on the front. Steering may get a little strange in the corners if you get to much sidewall, the tire will roll over if you push it...

Hey, I'm just checkin in and seeing if you did go for the 23x7x10. If you did how did they work out for ya? I just got two front rims on ebay and they came with 22x8x10 Goodyears on them, I havn't had a chance to try it out yet, but it think if will be fine. If ya get this, let me know. Thanks

I have 25" swampfoxes on my 250. They are kickass tires in mud but I think tehy are tough on the engine. I originally had 25" mudbusters but found them to be pretty bad. I did however put the 25" mudbusters on my friend's 400ex one time and it was pretty sick. The 400ex didn't have enough power to accelerate in 5th gear with them on though but it was still a cool experience. We wanted to put his 20" on my 250 but the rims didn't fit.

Jed, you say those swamp foxes are rough on the motor huh? I was thinking of putting a tire with even more treat than that on mine, but if those are boggin you down, I might not now. I was thinking of going down to a 24inch with deep tread, but I wasn't sure if it will give me too many rpm's and cook the motor. I've got a pair of 25inch knobbie on it right now and that thing chews up everything, I've got enough power to drive it up on a round hay bail. It's alot of fun and I don't want to loose any power. Let me know what all your boys are running out there for mud tires and sizes. Anyone shorter?taller?wider? Thanks
