Default Recon ES / Trouble Shooting / Dash Lights

The dash lights/Gear selected display light flash on my 02 Recon ES and I am sure this is a trouble shooting tool to let you know that there is something wrong. Does anyone know what exactly the lights mean?

Yep, on 02 and up, they flash a code. I dont have a manual for the recon, but one for a foreman. They might be the same. Whats the symptoms? Does it ever clear out? If you use the shifter, and manually get to neutral, then go key off and back on..does it flash? how many flashes?

It flashes 1st gear continuously. The only way to get the quad to shift is to turn off the key and turn it back on. Within a few seconds it starts again. Can you help me?

The key will reset the flashes only for a few seconds. The symptoms are that it will not shift up or down while it is flashing. I will go see how many times it flashes........................................... ...................

It happens. Some things to check.
Proper oil, and proper amount in crankcase.
Good battery.
Clutch adjustment.

Mine blinks 8 usually and blinks 3 on occasion. So according to the chart above it's the Angle Sensor (System). Anyone know what this means? How to fix it? Is it a do-it-yourself fix or will I need to take it to the shop?
