Default Seal Leaking Oil by Front Sprocket (Z400)

Hey guys,

the seal by the front sprocket on my z400 is leaking oil. I got somethin wrapped around it accidentally and now I need to replace. Unfortunately, seals aren't covered under my warranty with the dealership (b.s.). Anyways, has anyone ever done this before? How much work is invovled? Is it true you have to take apart the entire transmission to do it? I'm only speaking from what I've heard, you get the picture. I know a really good mechanic who can help me out with it but I'm just curious how much this entails. I just hate to use him like everyone else does, but he doesn't mind and offered.

Thanks a lot

I just looked at a diagram of the output shaft seal. it looks like you just remove the sprocket, then the seal retainer, and then pull the seal.
